Trans Oil Leak Help needed

My recently purchased '75 GT750 has a trans oil leak from somewhere under the motor. I've cleaned and checked all the usual suspects; shift shaft, gear indicator switch, clutch cover, and everything is clean and dry, but I still get a drip off of the water pump bolt nearest to, and under this hole at the back of the water pump cover. Especially when warm after a ride it will drip onto the center pipe on its way to the floor making a mess too big to ignore. Could it be from here, or somewhere else? I'm out of ideas and I'm not taking the bike back down off the lift again until it's fixed. Thanks
Mark

Mark it sounds like you may have the dreaded water pump seal issue. Check out this thread:

I have the same symptoms on my 75 M and I am about to switch out the water pump assembly for a new one.

Mark, you have two options with your pump depending on how bad it is. It can be replaced with a complete new pump or if the shaft is OK it can be rebuilt.
That's cheaper of course, but only if the shaft is not badly corroded and the stainless steel seat isn't too bad. I know I have the oil seals in stock, but need to order in the special water seal if you want me to build you a swap over unit. Or you can order parts yourself and rebuild it.
