Suzuki 2 Strokes

I am attempting to restore a late 1960s (68 I think) S32-2 and I have started the engine rebuild. This is my first restoration, and I'm learning a lot, and I'm sure I'll be on this forum quite a bit more often!
I'm trying to remove the armature/stator, but don't have the special tool to do so! Does anyone know a trick to doing this, or know the diameter/pitch of the tool so I can order a bolt and fabricate one?

I can't help you with the stator removal, but I believe the S32-II was made 1 year only. Did a simple google search and it only lists the S-32-II for 1966.

Some of the bike shops have online parts ordering systems with parts diagrams.

Thats what I did at first myself, and found the suzukicycles.org page. But when I started trying to find parts, I saw several sites with a 1968 model listed . And somewhere else on this forum, someone mentioned that there was a -2, not the same as a -II, model offered in 67 and 68. So I'm now all sorts of confused. At this point, I figure I should just try to get the engine working, and worry about the trim nomenclature later!

Thanks for the links! Unfortunately, every OEM parts lookup I have checked lists the particular tool I need (and, unfortunately, the armature itself, so I can't just chop it off) as obsolete and unavailable.
I was able to find a reprint of the original S32-2 shop manual on eBay, and I've been referencing that a lot, but, because Suzuki wanted you to buy their tool, it doesn't list the dimensions of the tool, other than it needs a 14mm wrench The clymer vintage 2-stroke book has some good general info, that I had been reading up on, but again, nothing hat helps me get the armature off without destroying it

Best bet probably is to get the printed parts & service manuals on the eBay link I provided. That's what the dealers had back then.

I'd get:
1) 1966 S32II parts manual
2) 1968 S32-2 parts manual
3) S32-2 service manual
4) S32-2 service manual supplement
5) workshop manual for S32, S32-2 & S32II

Should end up with enough to sort out S32II vs. S32-2.

Also would get the Clymer twin manual.

I have zero experience with that model, but most alternator rotors use a relatively small range of pullers.
Q.
- left or right thread?
- Thread pitch 1.25, 1.5 etc?
- Thread OD as best you can determine?

Try the swingarm spindle or wheel axles to see if one of those will fit. If not check on line for pullers with the appropriate dimensions. Don't try a three legged puller though.

Agreed. Back in the 70s I used a rear axle as a puller for an alternator rotor.

There are 2 S32 magnetos listed on eBay. You could ask the sellers what they used.

So, I tried the rear axels, and they didn't fit. So I got frustrated, and whacked the side of it (gently-ish) with a rubber deadblow mallet, and lo and behold, it moved. So I did it again, and it moved more. 2-3 more whacks, and it popped off! When I looked inside, I realized why nothing really fit. It's tapered!
