Chain HELP!

I swapped the 42 tooth sprocket out for a 40 on my GS1000. This rendered the chain too long. I removed a link and now the chain is too short. I need a half link but I am told they are no longer made. The chain is an EK630 o-ring chain. Any ideas?

Second question. Who/where is the best price on chain?

Chris finding 630 isnt easy to find anymore since its not needed due to improvements in 530s tensile strength, but you already know that.
I cant suggest anything other than to either put the link back in and leave it as it was ratiowise or look for a different ratio in teeth that allows you to use the shortened chain.
If you can find a 39 rear sprocket instead of the 40, that may help you keep the shortened chain as it is.
The other alternative is to change the whole thing over to 530 sizing chain and sprockets

This may be way out in left field but a lot of farm equipment use roller chain. Check with your local John Deere dealer, or whatever is close to you, for a #60 chain or a half link that will work for the time being.

Good Deal Chris, I think I had access to a EK O-Ring chain but the site is down for the moment so I can't check.
