GT550 rings

Post by wvc »

Anyone bought any new rings from Suzuki lately. I have a GT550 that the cyl's and pistons measure out standard and within spec, but I still want to install new rings. I've searched fleebay, and found a few OS sets and T350 sets (same as gt550, but only 4 rings). Looks like my best bet is buying new ones direct from Suzuki, but I'm not sure if the new Suzuki rings are sold "per ring", "per piston", or a complete engine set. The parts diagram shows the arrows covering 2 rings at a price of $38. I'm guessing thats a 2 ring piston set. I hope its not $38 per ring, but thought i'd ask here to see if anyone else had purchased any recently. Or if you anyone had other suggestions for buying / locating a STD GT550 ring set. I'm not brand particular, but it looks like OEM suzuki is my only option.

Babbit's / Suzuki Parts House online ordering system shows the quantity you need.
Lists quantities as 3 pistons, 3 piston ring sets & 6 circlips.

They also have great prices.

That appears to be all 6 for $30.55. Am I reading that right?
EDIT!
Scratch that. $30.55 per set - 3 required.
I was born with nothing and still have most of it left.

Ok, thats kinda what I figured it'd be. $30 per ring sounded very high, but $30 for a full set sounded way to cheap. I'll know for sure soon enough, I ordered 3 of 'em.
Thanks for help guys.
