Thanks Dave! This will come in handy with the next set of rear sets where I've got a cable operated brake and don't want the cable too close to the wheel.

edit: I found this video after watching the one you posted. It's interesting in that he's using a cable and making his own end from the solder. The first two he makes the ends run with the cable but the last one is across the cable like a typical motorcycle cable end:

I recall someone mentioning putting a bead of Mig or Tig weld on the splayed cable end prior to soldering to make the cable even stronger.
