t500 top end ?

Hi Tamad.....you don't need to go to the expense of changing your pistons and rings unless running them backwards has damaged them of course......they will work just fine in your 73 barrells/jugs. The earlier pistons did indeed look different, with thicker rings and a series of grooves below the rings, but I have mixed and matched them countless times with no adverse effect.

Ok. Thanks. I appreciate the info from both parties. No need for bad mouthing. I was planning on replacing the rings regardless and I have the tools to measure them, I just need the specs on what rings were what thickness so I know what I have, and therefore, know what model and year I need to order rings for.

I feel I should clarify....we have NEVER used odd pistons. I have however used T500 pistons in Gt barrells/jugs, and vice versa......
