I am rebuilding my GT380J and considering fitting the latter SRIS valves that screw in the crankcase.
Can this mod be dun please? On the surface it looks like just taping out the old push in valve hols??

Re: SRIS Valves
Never messed with the tapered push ins so I can't answer your question. I suppose it's possible if hole is small enough. A word to the wise if you go that way, do not over tighten the valves. They snap off really easy. When rebuilding my GT550, I had to buy 4 new valves. Does that give you a clue as to how I know?
Another drawback is the filter screens are no longer available anywhere on this planet. I am running without those filters. Should be fine that way but I keep thinking about Lane's experience. He had one of the balls come out on his 750. Wreaked havoc with the piston and cylinder.
I wish someone would reproduce those filters. You can buy new SRIS valves all day long but no filters. I lookked everywhere including Germany and Norway. I would open my wallet pretty wide for a NOS set of 3.

I was born with nothing and still have most of it left.
