TS125C Fork Seals - which way is up?

The first task on the re-build and I need advice already :)

The new Genuine Suzuki seals have a spring on both sides, I always go for the spring on the oily side so now I am flummoxed. The old seals are well gone so I cant make any comparisons unfortuately. Do I use the other usual approach and fit with the writing on the seal outermost ?. A correct call now will prevent a grown man crying at the thought of having to re-strip the forks.

Thanks for any insights.

Thanks h2thief. a logical answer to minimise the pain :D :D :D

I have however after much deliberation (aka "f*%k it, writing side up) the seals are now installed for better or worse. Forks now assenbled and ready for oil :D

Yep, good call Zunspec. The extra garter spring on the "writing" side of the seal is there to add a little more "dirt exclusion" strength to the seal. Most replacement fork seals are made that way nowadays.
