gt500 oil pump set up

Where is the arm for the oil pump supposed to be when the throttle is closed? Is it supposed to rest against the case or be up off of it?

no one knows how to set up the oil pump? I searched and couldn't find any info. Any help will be greatly appreciated

The oil pump arm should not be touching the case. The only adjustment I know of is to adjust the throttle for the correct play (.5mm). Open the throttle all the way then look at the oil pump arm. There are a couple of dots and then a line marked on the arm. With the throttle open, the line on the arm should match up the line on the oil pump body. It's kind of hard to see (or else I'd take a picture) but if you look down inside the cavity where the pump is mounted you'll see the two marks and how they should line up. Use the adjustment on the oil pump cable to get those lines to match up and you should be good to go.

if your oil lines are empty.
quirt some injecter oil down the 4 oil plug holes(of course remove your banjo bolts 1st) as stated above line the two lines up.
start your bike up blip your throttle a couple times you should see the oil lines filling up.
it all depends on what injector oil you are using. the modern stuff you may need to back off a little . you can tell by how much smoke is coming out of the pipes once the engine is warmed up and your on the move.
there should be only a little haze of smoke.
if you have been riding steady say 40mph and decided to give her a blast then initialy you will get a cloud of smkoe till the pipes etc has cleared the remaining oil out.

Just got it running tonight and found there was air bubbles in the lines going to the left cylinder. Pulled the line off and made sure it was clear. Put the line back on and have the same problem. There is no air until the split in the lines and then both lines have bubbles. Any body have any insight why this might be?

your pump don't give you 1 liter/ minute, you must let the time at the time after putting air in the lines...

I took the oil pump apart last night. It was clean inside and there is plenty of oil coming from the tank. I filled the lines and put the pump back on. Ran it around the block and found air bubles in the left lines when I got back. There is air in both lines on the left side after the split. No air before the split only after so I'm guess there is a problem with the line itself. Anybody have a spare I can try? I'm getting anoyed with this thing.

i have the same problem with my T500, sounds like you have a leak in the line, do you get oil on your engine when it sits for a few days?

yeah there is a puddle of oil there after running for a while. I had the line off and didn't see anything but the only thing I can figure is that the line is messed up.

I took the line off at the banjo fittings and squirted some oil in the holes then started up the bike and kept squirting a little bit of oil in each hole while the pump pushed oil through the lines. Once there was no more air I shut off the motor and bolted the lines back up. took her for a ride around the block and no air bubbles in the lines yet.
