T350 air filter element

Post by Rogerdj »

Has anyone come up to an alternative element, housed inside the original metal air box?
I see the odd original NOS element for sale but very expensive.

hi roger, what i did with my early gt250 airbox - which is pretty much the same - was build a pair of 3mm thick aluminium plates that sit inside the bottom cover and drilled them to match the 3 holding bolt holes. hollowed the middles out and sandwiched a piece of air filter foam between them. worked fine for me. btw, i have got a nos air filter for it, but i'm saving it :D
cheers, dd.

i've seen people cut the bottom off an old airfilter and glue the foam to that. too risky as far as i'm concerned, because if that glue lets go where is the foam going to end up? :D
