The 380 and the 550 has the same part number for the smaller center muffler baffles, but the larger outer muffler baffles have different numbers.

It probably is scrap unfortunately. Can't believe that was missed during the process of chamfering the ports after the bore job.

About 12 years ago I visited PJME in Wolverhampton and asked them about re-lining a damaged 380 cylinder. They said they wouldn't do it, I don't know if that was because they don't have the facilities, or couldn't be arsed. I suppose turning up a new liner and matching all the ports etc is quite an involved job.

Back then it was still relatively easy to source used barrels so I found a decent one and used that. I think that's your best bet.

Thanks Ddog and Craig.Pete went back to Boretech .fella who did the boring insisted it wasnt a crack but a mark he made.he said he been doing them for 50 years and a ring would not pick up on it.Pete said he wasnt happy and the fella reluctantly re honed the bore.the crack/mark has all but gone and Pete is happy now.wish i could show you the photos of the bore but cant put them on here.the re build continues

Really bad news after your visit to the IOM last year, my friend.
Best hopes for a full recovery in the near future, then you can come with me to sort the bit of NC500 that I missed in the other thread here.
Think of how stupid the average person is, then realise that half of them are more stupid than that.
