Hello fellow riders, I am looking for a water pump drive gear for a Gt750, I know they were still selling them a while ago but now I can't seem to find them, did they stop making them ? Does anyone know where I can get one. Thanks

Hi Alan, I sent a message to the person in Germany waiting to here back from him. I also got a site from another member who is making them in PA he requires you send him the old gear so he can use the center shaft to fit into the new gear. Thanks

You could repair it. Try this....
Since I did this repair, I found some 28mm split collars that were thinner and didn't require the screw modification.

Interesting Lane, how long have you been running your Gt with the split collar and how is it holding up ? Where did you get the split collar from may I ask, my gear has the typical cracks with 28k miles.

@ jabcb- do you or any member know if the German Company is still in business? Their website doesn’t give the US as an option for registering (must not ship to US?) so I had a friend of mine in the UK (they list them) who emailed a week ago with no response.

@smokin- can you supply contact info for the gent stateside who performs this service?

I have a new Suzuki NOS plastic unit with low miles but would like to acquire an aluminum one.

I did that gear repair over ten years ago. I have done it on two bikes.

The Hoffis 2 Takt Shop website has a 2011 copyright, so I did a little digging.

The website mentions shipping charges to England but not the US. So they probably haven't thought about shipping to the US.

I think some parts of Germany are currently on a fairly hard lockdown because of covid. So this business might be closed until that is lifted.

Some small shops in Germany are fine having little or no web presence.
Some small shops in Germany also have no English speaking employees.

If your UK friend speaks German, or one of his friends does, a phone call by him would be the best way to go.

Absent that, have your UK friend use Google translate to send an email in German.
If the email includes the English text & German translation, then the shop will try to work with the limitations of the translate software.

Thanks jab! My UK friend also has a German friend so we have options and will update as info is known. I knew that many German sellers wouldn’t ship to the US due to COVID/ lockdown as I had my UK friend purchase and ship a roller bearing swingarm kit a couple of months ago for my 72 Kawasaki H2 750.

I am still waiting for a response from the guy in Germany so far no reply. Here is a guy in PA that makes the water pump gear, you have to provide the center metal part from your old gear so he can press it in to complete the gear. He's expensive $100 vs the guy in Germany $60

That does surprise me. I'll have a word with him.
I'm sure if there's business to be done, he'll work on getting some!
In his position, I think we all would....
