Thanks for help to date....finally traced the intermittent cutting out to loose wire(s)-mainly orange one. Each connector has a tiny metal flap to secure in plastic connector so that it doesn't move when plugged to female end. Trouble is....they do. Just wondering best option.
1) I have re-connected each wire with a drop of araldite (orange wire securing flap broken off)....will this last ?
2). Cut wires both ends and fit an open connector(photo) and cover with plastic.
3). Buy a pattern ignition barrel + connector (about £25) ?
Any thoughts welcome. Have a good day.
John (Worthing,UK).

Re: Ignition connector box-wires not holding-GT185.
There are extraction tools for removing the wires from those connectors.
http://www.vintageconnections.com/Products/Tools
Use the extraction tools & you may be able to bend the tiny metal flaps out a bit so that the wires stay put as they should.
If not you can replace the entire connectors (also called terminals) with new ones. If you do that, I recommend upgrading to locking connectors.
Don’t know who sells these electrical products in the UK. Maybe another forum member can provide that info.
Get some extras so you can practice before working on your wiring.

Many thanks for that. The "flap" has broken off on orange wire so I guess fit two new box connectors.
Thanks for help. John.
