The two petcock inlet filters, part # 44322-31050, are pushed into place with little effort. Seems rather rare that they are still on the petcock when I remove one of those petcocks.
Does anyone have any technique for making sure those two filters stay put?
Those two filters are before the diaphragm mechanism, and the little disk filter is after that mechanism. They may be more important than many of us realize.

It's very common for these to come off and TBH I had a few floating around my tank for years! Not sure how effective they are but I just fit in line filters they seem far more effective

Last year one of my GT750s had gas dripping from the overflow when parked because crud from the tank messed with the vacuum mechanism. Looking to avoid a repeat this year.
I remember seeing an old petcock with inlet filters that look like that had been glued on. Whatever was used didn’t damage the filters & stood up to modern fuel. A little excess glue was visible & it was clear.
As an alternative, I’ve thought about converting the petcock to manual & using an inline Pingel vacuum valve. The petcock little disk filter would then protect the vacuum mechanism.

I read that JB weld or araldite will do the trick if you want to glue them on.

Is anyone using any special inline filter or do you just use what fits in the available space? Seem like something with a paper element and a right angle would be give better filtration and fit better in the space.
