Broken starter clutch key
Just got gt750k motor running after a very long rebuild (seven years) .Was running like a clock but stopped after 15 mins run time. Found timing out. Started removing parts to find key (08341-31039) had broken on starter clutch assy which drives breaker cam. Just asking if anyone has had is problem. Maybe I have same washers in the wrong place? (Motor was built from 3 wrecks )

Re: Broken starter clutch key
That's a common problem. More likely to be because of a kickback when starting or maybe flooding and hydro locking

Re: Broken starter clutch key
Thanks tz375, I have had carby problems and electrical problems in trying to get motor started for weeks. So your comments are likely to have happen. The motor had oil up bad from not starting. I though i had a bush fire when it fired up from all the smoke coming from exhaust.
