Carbs are cleaned and good... maybe ignition coils? Spark seems weak

Hello Pippi,
It is possible that as the revs rise you are running out of power from the battery. Higher revs take more out of the electrical system. As a simple test charge up the battery using a battery charger, a good battery should read 13.0 - 13.4v across the terminals with no load. Then give it a whirl up the street and see if it makes a difference. If the test shows a better performance you will need to look at the charging circuits and determine if they are doing the job they are supposed to.
Cheers Geoff

+1 on it being a dying battery. A good, fresh, fully charged battery would enable you to run for 90 minutes to 2 hours without any problems at all (lights switched off), even if you disconnected the charging system.
I ran my 380 on total-loss electrics for a few years because the generator rotor had died, it would happily do 70 - 80 miles before the spark started to get weak. And of course the 380 has three ignition coils to fire, not the two of the T500, so it's taking 50% more juice from the battery.
If the battery on the bike is more than 3 or 4 years old, just replace it, the lead-acid batteries these bikes use are dirt cheap.
