t500 engine cases

Can anyone tell me if I can put crank and gears from a 1971 engine into 1976 cases

1971 = T500 with point ignition.
1976 = GT500 with CDI

Crankshafts are different, have a different end on the crank on the ignition/alternator side.

Cranks interchange.You just need to use points ignition with pre-76 crank.

You should consider doing the transmission mod. Its in this service bulletin:

Crank and gears will interchange but the stator plate for electronic ignition sits a little further out. You can shim out the
three bosses on the casing to properly locate the electronic (GT) plate.

Buy the way PaulMiller has two cases on Ebay that come from me serials 68567 and 43852 that I consider were not paid for.
He also stole a GT crank from me and does not reply phone or Emails. You will also be seeing 12 mufflers, 8 carburetors, gas tanks, wheels
and a whole pile of other stuff that were not compensated for.
