Knock Bolt.

Hi All,
I have finished my GT380 project and have now started helping a mate with his Honda CB200 project. I know it's not a 2 stroke but my question is of a general nature.
Does anyone know what a Knock Bolt is as the manual keeps referring to them especially on the camshaft sprocket. I've tried googling them but all I get is woodworking fittings. Are they different from a standard bolt.

Regards,
Glyn.

I believe that they are referring to the stepped bolts that retain the cam sprocket. They are not a simple 6mm bolt in that they have a precise length and diameter of the plain part that goes through the sprocket. They are also much harder/tougher than stock bolt so that can withstand the repeated back and forth forces inherent in a cam.

Cheers tz375,
That makes a lot of sense to me now. Better get some ordered.

Glyn.

A 'shoulder screw' is the generic term here in the UK

Shoulder screw.....

That sounds typically British style kinky?

Or it may be what the bone doctor has in mind for my worn out shoulder :(
