petcock was leaking from both right and left valves, just a drip every couple of seconds
basically I'm trying to figure out where in the petcock the issue is, could the dial seal be causing it? it was definitely damaged, I tried flipping it since it was symmetrical, and it completed the seal, but it seemed to leak worse afterwards
soo I'm trying to repair a petcock to hold me over till i can get new parts
$$$$$$+time(shipping is forever) and I want to ride now.

Inside the petcock is a rubber diaphram. If you gently remove it, there will be a loaded spring behind it. These springs lose tension. Take the spring and ever so slightly pull on it a hair. This will increase the tension of the spring. This often works, it sometimes doesn't. I'm not a fan of rebuild kits. It pains to pay the rediculous prices for a new complete original petcock. But, it's worth the headaches and should last for several years to come. Making that worth it. You have a huge gap of rubber missing between two ports. And the edges of your diaphram look suspect. Rebuild kits don't include a new diaphram or spring. But judging by the picture your main problem is the gash of rubber missing. Which that gasket is easy to replace in a rebuil kit. But, if your diagram is also an issue. It'll take a new complete petcock. Patch repairing petcocks has a large failure rate. You don't want today's ethanol exposed to crank seals. That's where it ends up, if the leak is flooding the carbs. That's what the diaphram helps prevent. Check crank oil for smell of gas.

Your lever gasket is shot.
Its still available from Suzuki — fastest way to get it is likely from your local dealer.
A nearby eBay seller that has it in hand might be a bit faster if he ships promptly.
The 75 T500M parts manual doesn’t show the lever gasket as a separate part.
But the part is shown for the 73 GT250K, which uses the same petcock.
