The part number is 44733-11030 has been backordered at my local Suzuki dealership for the past couple weeks. I had to dig out the remains of the seal in order to remove the filter and flush the sludge out of my oil tank.

My seal was so badly decomposed I couldn't tell if it has a square or round cross section. Does anyone have a line on where I can buy the proper Suzuki part number listed above, or if a generic o-ring from my local hardware store will suffice?
Thanks - Dane

You can order one from Suzuki, but I used a generic o-ring from the hardware store.

Dane the original ring had a square cross section but as Lane says an o-ring will work till you get the original part or you can leave it in.
Just make sure you get one with a decent amount of thickness to take sufficient torque pressure to seal the joint without cutting through it.

Good point Allen. I'll bring the tap with me the the HW store. Unsure if Suzuki will come through in time for me to ride this sweetheart of a bike next weekend on our first Club ride of the year.
