T350 piston/ring part numbers

Hey guys,

I have a (hopefully) quick question for any of you T350 buffs.

I just bought a set of standard size cylinders for my '71 T350 as well as a set of standard pistons. From what I understand, any year piston will work in any year cylinder (Sweet! )

The pistons I bought were listed as Suzuki part # 12110-18500. They don't come with rings, so I'm on the market for a couple of sets. From what I gather, the T350 came with either early model rings (thick) or late model (thin/GT550) rings. The pistons were listed up as fitting a '69-'72 T350. I found rings, but from what I see, they're either listed as 12140-8330 and '69-'70 or 12140-18510 and '70-'72. I have absolutely no idea which rings fit the pistons I bought... I can probably just measure when I get them, but then I have to wait even longer to get this thing running.

Any idea what part number rings I need?

Thanks for answering all my questions. I can't wait to actually ride this thing!

Eric

for a 1971 you need 12140-18510,I would recommend new circlips,bearings and pins(16mm).

Thanks! I ordered my rings and wanted to follow up for anyone that might run into the same situation as I did. First off, the rings I ordered were PN: 12140-34030 which directly cross reference to PN: 12140-18510. These fit perfectly on the standard piston (PN: 12110-18500). As most of you already know, these rings are keystoned ie. not a rectangular cross section. I thought they were angled on both sides, but apparently not. There IS a correct top and bottom to these rings. If you put them in upside down, they won't go all the way into the ring lands. Well, that's enough for tonight. Thanks for the help everyone (I actually got quite a few PMs). It's nice to know that there are other people out there who love these bikes as much as I do. Off to the shop to get her fired up!
