Bigger tire on same size wheel?

Post by twilbeck828 »

Hey guys this is a basic question that I'm sure has been answered before. If there is a previous post with the same question I apologize in advance and please direct me to that. So my basic question is that I have a 1967 Suzuki a100. It has 2.50x17 tires on it that are probably as old as the bike is. Nonetheless they need replaced and I wanted to put some white walled tires on them but there are no whitewall tires of this size that I could find. I went over to treatland.tv (a moped store i know) and they are selling 2.75x17 white walled tires. To my question. Is it possible to go from a 2.50 to a 2.75 or even higher? Is it possible to go from 2.50 to a 2.25 or lower? I'm just trying to figure out how much customization I can make as far as tires go.

Thanks,
Taylor

There are a number of information sources for this around the net - of course the veracity would need to be cross referenced/confirmed ! :D Try this link which I think is pretty complete:

http://www.dropbears.com/u/utilities/tyrerim.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Or you can also take a look at this PDF.

http://www.c-note.dk/wordpress/wp-conte ... _Chart.pdf" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

IIt actually does cross reference fairly well to the dropbears listing. 8)
