Ok thanks I did set them wrong then
Thanks
Where is the best place to get oem rebuild kits
Or at least a proven good kit to rebuild these carbs with

Has anyone bought and used the carbs from the guy on
E Bay who sells the how to DVD s from across the big pond
???
I noticed he has a set rebuilt and tested ready to bolt up
A little pricey but I'm really wanting to get motor fired up
So I can access what I'm dealing with there ..

Thanks again for all the info

Ok so I got carbs cleaned and rebuilt again went back with original bowl gasket and also adjusted throttle valves per book instructions they where a little off but my main problem was I had floats all jacked up
I also got oil injection hooked up and seems to be flowing I can see oil moving in lines

Next question is how to get it to idle ???
I'm assuming the throttle valve adjust screw is same as idle screw???
Do I need to put stock air box back on to get correct vacuum ???
I put pods on there I
And it wont even start with them on
Jets are 110 main and 47.5 pilot or slow jet ???
Are these good bad or ????
Just what came with cheap eBay kit

Bike is running very rough and I have to keep RPM s up to keep her running
I need to check or confirm timing is correct
Is there any easy poor country boy way to check this
I do have a dail indicator that I could rig at least on left or right cylinder to check top dead position

Ran motor long enough to get temp gauge about half way but never saw any movement from coolant
Also she is a smoking like she's on fire I'm guessing from premix I have in tank plus oil injection ????
I know 2 strokes smoked i have plenty of them around but should I thin out gas in tank by adding some straight gas or would it be good to send the rich mix through as I'm waking this motor up ????

Thanks as always

Noticed another problem
Fried wires at the panel on left side under side cover
It was the lowest plug in the 4 plug set and also the
Plug going to rectifier
Anyone know what would cause that
The plugs were melted basically
Luckily I gad spears from my parts bike
Replaced plug ends and fired bike back up
And in about a minute of running the rectifier
Wires where hot ????
What is causing this issue ???
I didn't notice the other plug getting hot just the rectifier plug
The wider plug one the middle of the three plug in a line there mounted
To that removable panel under side cover

I checked all other wiring and didn't notice and breaks shorts or any other
Melted wires

BK- we are in the same boat. I am on my first as well. Have learned alot so far but still loads more to go. I can tell you that I was concerned about my coolant not moving as well so I removed the thermostat boiled it and it opened as it should then I fired the bike up minus the thermo and it shot water out the upper house just fine so it is pumping. Mainly I gather that because of the filler neck angle it is hard to see much movement and the bike has to idle for a while until the coolant gets hot enough to open the thermo .Like 10 minutes or more... I was worried because my head seemed to be getting pretty hot but it was pumping so perhaps it was just before opening or something and I kept powering down. Got a friend with a restored buffalo coming so I can observe his system and not ethe difference if any.

Glad to hear you got the pump sorted out! Say- would you happen to have an extra master cylinder on one of those bikes in good shape?

also pop a airbox on there! I could not get mine to idle only with the choke on (unless I restricted air wit my hands)without one but after putting on a stock box ,it fired right up and idles pretty good now without the choke... My adjustment screw is maxed now and I would liek it to idle a little higher but getting pretty close to being on target-
