Great! If you need anymore pics, just let me know. Now all you need to do is make a trip down to Barber's in Oct! If so, I'll see you there!

Re: Intakes and Air Boxes - Questions
It was great just making down the street to Stewarts today. But she's running well enough now to take her out into traffic for the first time.
As promised, more pictures from my side.
First, a top view of the top battery box mounting bracket: My '71 Oil Tank only has one mounting tab on the backside, not two like your '74: A late model air box, but the front mounting bracket chopped and drilled: A gratuitous beauty shot. Back from her first day of playing in traffic:

Yep, it looks like the oil tank has different mounts and the frame brackets under the seat are different too. I didn't want to pull the seat off for a pic ( nice reg/rect BTW, I've got the same one), but here's one of the underseat area on my (ugly) spare '74 frame hanging in the garage to compare.

Re: Intakes and Air Boxes - Questions
Well, that confirms that Suzuki had made changes to the frame to accommodate the longer intakes. Cool that they made provision to mount the early intakes (two sets of battery box mounting holes, as well as on the oil tank).
Along with these changes, Suzuki re-jetted (leaner Main Jet and Needle Jet) as well as changed the porting of the later cylinders. My '71 has a '73 engine on it, so it will take me a little while to find what will be the best jetting will be. I'm starting with the '71 jetting (150 Mains and P-5 Needle Jet) which I can tell is too rich just from today's ride. But I'm guessing I won't need to go down too many steps, as it wasn't running too heavy.
Thanks for all you input on this thread. I searched the 'net for whatever info I could find on this, and along with your help, and several hundred dollars of parts I probably won't use, I think we have some good info here.
