Redwing Shock Rebuild...??????

Post by Tom Garcia »

I need to rebuild a pair of Hammerheads...

Any hints?

I see a couple people selling kits on eBay for $22-$26 + Shipping... Good?

Is there a better place to buy them that anyone know about?

Many thanks!

Tom,
are those things any good? We used a few sets of the steel tubed Redwings and they are OK for a while and cheap as chips.

From what I understand they are "OK"... A couple web references and again with Aylor yesterday at the Gap are they are generally soft... Guess I'm going more for the neat period look... At least they are rebuildable and I can go stiffer on the oil if need be...

My fat butt may use 95% of the spring but my riding skills probably only use 5% of the shock....
