Right on, Ian !!! These 550's are tough old birds and, with even a smidgen of maintenance and some TLC, they will go a lonnnnggggg way. See you at the A & Dub....eventually.....maybe even THIS Thursday if the weather cooperates. Fingers crossed. :D

Thanks Rick ! I've put about 20 miles on it, and it seems to run fine - just sorting out some minor niggles. Perhaps I'll try for the A&W next week as SWMBO'd has me suffering the sun, surf and sand with her in Aruba this week. Its tough, but someone has to do it :D

Well, Allan, there ARE still a few patches in the shade and on the north sides of buildings but......there were lotsa bikes out last weekend as well as today. Because it's a little chilly for me.....high of +10C (50F).....I won't be making the trek to the A & Dub tonight. Besides, my alternate excuse is that none of my bikes have been "de-winterized" yet, including the 550. I guess I better get to work on all of them what with the beginning of May fast approaching.

It does cool down fast in the evening and I personally do not enjoy riding in the -2C to 4C evening temps typical for this time of year here. The real issue though is all the gravel and sand on the roads and in the intersections. Till they get the street sweepers going, it is not too safe out there if you can't see clearly, so I tend to limit being out to just daylight hours.
