Coupler o-rings...

Post by pjmcburney »

Blokes,

Has anyone tried using large, heat-resistant o-rings in between the coupler tubes on the J/K/L GT750s instead of RTV silicon or the original Suzuki goop?
And, if you have, can you give me an idea of the size required?

I'm getting a little tired of re-doing mine with RTV every year or so (it blows out eventually) and I'd like to fit something in there that's easy to remove and re-install as well.

Any info greatly appreciated.

Cheers

I just put slightly oversize O rings on the tubes on my 550K and no goop.
I had to use a ratchet luggage strap to get the pipes together (and 'certain' swear words) but they went in, and no problems in 700 miles or so, so far.
Next time I'm in the garage, I'll check sizes.
Think of how stupid the average person is, then realise that half of them are more stupid than that.
