Gt750 Line going into starter cover?

Post by Old School »

I am wanting to remove the starter cover in order to replace the oil lines on a GT750. There is a small line that runs into the intake runner on the number 1 cylinder and goes through the starter cover and down. What the heck is this and how do I safely remove it?

That is an SRIS line from the front of the motor. It's easy to remove. They should be a thin steel clip. Slide that back down the line and the black plastic line should be easy to pull off the brass barb.

Thanks. After I did a little more searching, I found out what it was. Can it be eliminated, is it needed?

If you block off all three SRIS valves in the front of the crankcases and block off all three connections to the block, you can eliminate the complete SRIS system.
