'76 GT550 Front Caliper Question
Does anyone know the size of the O-rings that are installed on the caliper bolts? Mine were dryrotted and I couldn't get an accurate measurement. Thanks in advance.

Re: '76 GT550 Front Caliper Question
I'll second that question. AlphaSports lists the o-rings at $6.68 each so a cost effective alternative would be good. Not that it would break anyone's bank but that's a lot for an o-ring.

Re: '76 GT550 Front Caliper Question
I found them on http://www.oringsusa.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; They measure 8.00mm x 1.00mm and the Buna70 compound will work. They are $0.04 a piece. Shipping totaled $7.50, but I still saved some loot.

Re: '76 GT550 Front Caliper Question
Well I FINALLY got around to ordering these o-rings. Felt good paying $0.04 too when Suzuki wants $6.68 a pop for OEM. Also just bought a reproduction brake hose set from cruzinimage through Ebay per Allan's direction so that should keep me occupied for a little while this winter.

Re: '76 GT550 Front Caliper Question
If you buy the caliper rebuild kit 59100-18834 ($42.24 at Dillon's) you get all the o-rings, new dust boots, new piston and a new caliper seal. Inspect your piston carefully. If it is pitted in the seal area, the kit is the only way to go IMO.
I was born with nothing and still have most of it left.

Re: '76 GT550 Front Caliper Question
I compared the oringusa o-rings to my original ones and they're not a great match. They're 1mm thick compared to about 1.35mm for stock. So they will work but I wouldn't recommend them. I've yet to pull the calipers off but just wanted to mention that right away for anyone who happens to read this thread.
