My 1976 GT750A has a locked electric starter. I took it apart and it is very rusty and the brushes don't move. It's a Mitsuba SM229. Is this starter worth rebuilding or should I find one that works? Is there a rebuild kit still available? Anyone here have a spare starter?
Thanks to everyone here for all the great information.

If it is that rusty, most likely you will be better off finding a replacement. At the very least, you can still use the kick start!!

Check on ebay, sometimes stuff like that goes cheap.
