T500 Chain Question

I have finished my T500 restoration and I noticed that the distance between the chain and the rear tyre of around 5-6mm which seems really close - is this correct? The rear wheel alignment is correct.

As long as there is no mis-alignment between the front and rear sprockets (and if standard there shouldn't be) and the chain is not actually hitting the tyre you are fine.

Tyre size is Ok. reason I asked as I have seen some with larger tyres (4.50) and they tend to rub on the chain guard which shows how close it is normally.
