Suzuki 2 Strokes

Quick question thanks - I am going to use some Yamabond when assembling my T500 engine. Do you apply the sealant to both sides of the casing mating surfaces before assembly?

Others may have a different opinion, but I only put it on one half of the case as needed. When you torque the bolts down, it will start oozing out. Makes you wonder where the excess goes inside of the case. A little bit goes a long way.

Sealant?
I have parted a good number of these motors, and never used sealant when rebuilding. Perhaps I have been lucky, but I have never had any leaks that I have noticed......

Does anyone else not use a sealant?

ALWAYS use sealant, but very very sparingly on both cases, ie an amount of sealant the lenth of the end bit of your finger should do BOTH cases

I am pretty sure the Yama Bond or Suzuki Bond case sealant products are designed to be the perfect product and it will remain slightly flexable and will not blob off inside the case where you cannot see it and break loose to float around thats really bad on 4 strokes . I will say that i too only put it sparingly on one side but hat doesnt make it correct .. it just looked like enough to fill any tiny voids .

Three Bond Grey Sealant will do the trick ! sparingly

no matter what sealant you use, be it three bond etc liquidised cabbage, if you use too much it will squeeze out ...... both sides........... simples really!!!!
