T500 Oil Line Check Valve Pressures

Any ideas on the following - I flushed out my oil lines and check valves using carb cleaner and WD40 with a low pressure hand pump at around 4-5 psi and then refilled and tested the lines and valves on oil. They all seem to crack at around 3.5 psi and seal with no leaking at around 1.5 psi. These figures are of course well down from factory new check valve specs, however when considering that there is no easy way to strip the c/valves apart and replace the springs and balls which I did with my Kaw H1B triple, there really is nothing I can do to improve this. Will these oil lines still be ok to use?

I gather you haven't read the Suzuki shop manual eh ? While I admit that the plot and character development is weak, there is actually some good information offered - if you are close to the numbers listed by the factory then you should be fine so long as corrosion hasn't compromised the seal faces. :wink: For most editions you can find the info at the top of page 37, and if you don't have a copy there is one on line at this link. 8)

Thanks for the link. I have retested the lines again and they crack open between 2 to 2.5 psi and both shut off and hold 1.25 psi after 3 hours. With the height of the oil tank above the c/valves, this should be OK, however these figures are low compared to new Suz c/valves - would you use them?

Haven't got as far as checking the oil pump / lines on my project yet but turned these up while 'reasearching' the topic.

Scale and cracking pressures look promising, in the process of enquiring about small volume costs.

At 2.5mm OD they conceivable could be pushed into some 4mmOD / 2.5mm ID tube just in front of the or maybe just used to replace the check valve in the banjo. As I don't know if mine are good or bad yet I am reluctant to pull it a part too see. If anyone has a scrap check valve / banjo they are willing to donate if theyare not overly costly I will experiment with options build oil lines.

New check valves are now available via eBay.

Ahh... my bad I had seen them an mistakenly read it as £44 ea and dismissed them as overly expensive, set of 4 for that price is not so bad :oops:

Can add plain M6 banjos 5mm ID pipe can be got here https://www.tyagiracing.com/products.ph ... r-5mm-Hose if anyone needs some.
