72 T500 Head Stock Labels
Are there one or two labels on the T500 head stock? I have one with the model details, weight, engine & frame numbers which I need to replace, however is there also a VIN label on the head stock as well? Any photos would be appreciated and also where to get these from - thanks.

Re: 72 T500 Head Stock Labels
I have only seen one label. They were different depending on the year. There are several sellers on Ebay selling the different types of labels, one in Switzerland and I believe there is one in the UK:
Switzerland:

Here are some pictures of the different labels, the early ones like the Cobra were aluminum and riveted on, later they were alu foil and then I believe vinyl. The pics in order are a 68 Cobra, 70 MKIII, and a 74. Others may have additional pictures

The longer style were also available from Jerry Ure in Michigan (the email I have for him is jrure@aol.com ). He is also on eBay at this link. If you supply him your bike's details (VIN and build date) he prints that on the label for you. When I ordered from him the turnaround was pretty quick and the cost was reasonable. If you search back through this board, you will find previous mention of him as well, and I also wrote about him here a couple of years back.

Re: 72 T500 Head Stock Labels
Thanks guys - much appreciated. I assume the early model T500 like my 1972 model has the smaller label?

Re: 72 T500 Head Stock Labels
Might depend on the country of import actually - different jurisdictions had different requirements. I'm pretty sure the The UK headstock labels looked like the topmost one right the way through as both the engine and the frame numbers were required for registration, and I had always thought the larger rectangular ones were just US/Canada as the engine and frame numbers did not have to be recorded - just the frame. For NZ, I suspect yours would have looked the same as the UK ones, although I'm sure someone will chime in to correct me.

I assume that NZ would be the same as OZ. You are right the smaller one is the one used in OZ for all T500 models.

I have done some research on my side and yes, the top one seems to be the way to go. Thanks for your help.
