Early T500 shifter shaft

Post by oldjapanesebikes »

I wrote about this at this link, but the short version is I wanted a better spline for the shifter on my MK I T500 - these are the double ended ones so you can have either a right or left side gear shift. The left splines were shot and I couldn't find a good one, so I've modified a later single ended style with good splines on the left side, so that I can fit the rubber cap that was used on the right side spline. Its a cheat. but I can live with myself as it will at least look right when installed, and will do till I find a better one if I decide to redo it in the future.

The rubber caps are available from several places - I bought mine from Reiner in Germany. Just drop him an email for a price list (GTReiner1@aol.com).
