Why is my front wheel knocking?????

Post by MikeH1A »

After polishing and tidying up the front end of the Buffalo, I now have a new issue after reassembly. Everything seemed to go back together nicely in the front end and the wheel spins freely. (Front end looks darned purdy :D ) However, there is a slight knocking noise as the wheel turns. It seems to be coming from indside the hub somewhere and sounds like something goes around but then knocks something as it passes. The noise stops until whatever it is reaches the same spot and then theres another slight knock.

Any ideas wht this may be? Have I put it back together in a ham fisted fashion?

Thanks for any ideas. Mike

Thanks for that. I took the wheel off again today and carefully positioned the speedo drive and teeth. Once put back together, the wheel turned sweetly and no noise anymore  So, I've tightened everything up and am ready to roll - well with the front end anyway. Now, it's time to refit the rear end and pipes! Hopefully only another couple of weeks before she's back on the road
