Does anyone have a part # for the all brass floats for a 1968 T500 34mm carbs?
The later microfiche only has a part # for the independent type floats....

That's the same photo that I have on microfiche..... It only shows the independent type.
(similar to Yamaha RD350)
The part # would have to come from an original 1968 parts book.
Anyone ??

This might be better.

part # 13252-15010 / quantity of 4
(These are the independent type)
13252-18010 / quantity of 2
(These are for the 32mm carbs - Same as T305/T350 - these are too narrow for the 34mm carbs)
Thanks for the effort so far !!
My frame/engine # is 10332 - very early one !!

Hey Ivan,
The February 1968 T500 parts book lists part # 13252-15010 for the floats and shows the 4 independent floats. Is there a possibility the carbs were swapped out on your machine at some point in it's life? Maybe you could post a photo of the float assembly you have on your T500?

The carbs were not swapped out...
My bike is a very early one... the 1968 service manual refers to the brass floats in the carb section for the 34mm carbs, but I want to replace one of them and can't find a part #.
You can see photos on pages 68,70,& 71 in the 1968 manual.
There was a change mid-year to the independent type.

Early 500s had a wide rounder almost barrel shaped float bowl and the floats had rounded sides and were much wider than the later flat sided floats.
TGrogan was good enough to send me a few carbs to look at last year and he might be persuaded to part with the early type carbs. It's worth asking teh question. I can post pictures of the different floats if you need them.

I would buy a pair of them if they are in repairable shape and reasonably priced.
Thanks for responding !!
My 500 is in this album with the rest of my old junk :

Nice bikes. Does that 500 have 11 fins or 10 and are the barrels the same externally as later ones?

There's no such thing as 10 fins.... Not even on the earilest 500/fives
The barrels are externally the same as all the years... porting is slightly different.
The bike runs awesome with the later T500 pistons (much better than the original windowed pistons.)
After I modded:
The idle circuits,
Used different needle jets,
Designed my own needles to go with the needle jets,
And used a 1971-1972 air filter base (perforated tube design)
Those are the floats... I need one... Want to sell the pair of carbs?

While tracking engine and frame numbers (
which can be found here) as yet we haven't found one - I think it was a reporter's error right from day one and all that's happened is succeeding reporters have just repeated the original misinformation.
