Is this correct for GT750J? Buffalo experts please

Post by MikeH1A »

Hi Guys,

This guard has popped up on our local version of ebay. Looks to be a good bargain at the moment. Is it correct for a J model Buffalo or off something later? Would you mind looking at the link and giving me your opinion?

Many thanks, Mike

P.S. Just got a great condition owners manual for the J model for the equivalent of $US18

I don't know my buffalo's real well, but I see a hole for the fender strut bolt in it, doesn't that make it correct for a 74-76 or thereabouts ? I think the B model 77 was strut less. I may be wrong though.

You're right. I didn't notice the holes for the fender struts.

Looks like you're also right on it being for 74-76. A hole for the cable guide isn't visible. So its not for the early double-drum braked model.

Agreed - I don't show a good photo in the Field Guide of the fender so perhaps I'll have to add something, but it should have cable guide holes on both sides. That fender could be for a late K or L model (1973/1974). 8)

Ian you are correct, its for a 73 or 74 Buffalo, since those models carry the saddles with two holes for the braces and one cable guide hole.
By 75 to 76 the strap saddle was gone on the braces and hidden inside the stay with a screw.
Two strokes, its just that simple.

Many thanks guys. Always best to check before one starts bidding  I had been looking for the cable guide holes as well. I'll let this one go then.
