Both of mine appear to have the same page 33 Argo - no differences. And they both have the same photo of the grease nipples on the cables shown on page 58, Fig 65, and both actually specifically recommend greasing the cables on page 33, as well as the photo on page 58 (along with the other photos showing additional grease points - and the grease nipple in the clutch cover and on the swing arm of later models are not visible in any of the photos).

As I think I mentioned- my original is a bit worn so that one photo of the frame number was not clear - I have updated the on-line frame/engine list with the owner manual numbers 8)

I am new to this site specifically, I rescued a 69 t500 slated for a chop (believe it or not ) the previous owner said it was an import from london england, and it is black, lots of parts are damaged or missing but in my eyes (having restored many bikes) is all there. my vin is in the 14xxx both frame and motor, I was told by some peeps of vjmgo that it should be a short wheelbase but mine is a long.

A 14xxx number would place it as being a mid series MK I, so nominally a 1968 model, but may have been registered later. So far as the short swing arm - I really doubt it. Take a look at the T500 link on this page for frame/engine numbers that have been bracketed so far. Do you have a few photos ? And where in Canada are you ? There is another fellow on this board in Ontario, and here in Alberta, a fellow in Edmonton and myself (Calgary) also working on the same model.

Thanks for all the info, while I know that the '75 is the least exciting of the bunch, you've helped me figure out

1. Why my frame and engine numbers don't match
2. That my bike really is a '75 and
3. That I won't mess up something completely rare in working on this bike.

For the record, my frame # is 76253 and engine # is 76277

Cheers!

Emailed to Ian directly - but just aquired T500 MkIII - Manufacturing date is 7/70 and has matching engine and vin of T500 30608.

Headstock plate is there and legible / the vin is stamped on the headstock too with 0608 not covered by the plate, and of course the engine is clearly stamped. So all looks to be in order to be a credible point on the T500 timeline

Trying to find out correct age etc of my T500 as it isregistered incorrectly. It is a T500-31924. It also has a cheese cutter on the gas tank, know these came out in 1970, but think engine and frame is 71, Any help would be great. Thanks
