Painting engine covers, heat.

For those wanting to keep their bike the way the factory made them.

Painting engine covers, heat.

Post by Ash »

Hey all

I am currently painting the clutch cover etc from my Stinger.
I had planned to use an automotive acrylic. (single pack)

Will this be OK for the purpose?
The covers will get some heat but I wouldn't expect them to be scorching...?

Advice much appreciated!

Thanks
Ash

Just as a note...I've used PJ1 case paint purchased via Dennis Kirk...and also brake caliper paint resists all the nasties... I guess one or both of these would be out of the question if you couldn't find it in the color you prefer....

Thanks Tom.
I ended up using the enamel, hopefully it will be OK.
Pretty happy with how it looks anyway. 8)
