Side Covers

Has anyone else noticed that Suzuki is again selling both styles of GT750 side covers ? Has anyone reading this bought a set of these ? The style to fit the 1972 and 1973 model years is available in black for $46.62 from Dillons, and the 1974 through 1977 model year style costs $69.26 - also in black. I was curious if these were 'as per the original' or, like the side badges, were different in some way.

Ian, the 72-73 covers are as the originals were mould wise right down to the sloppy way the grilles are attached inside. Luckily this time though, they used a washer and some goo instead of melting the pins down over them.
The other thing i see different is that the badge holes are marked but not drilled in the covers.
I cant help you on the 74-77 covers as i did not buy any of those yet.

Just as an update - I went ahead and picked up a couple of these (the new 1972/1973 side covers) and I'm really pleased with them. They seem to faithfully duplicate every flaw the originals had, minus the battle scars and micro cracks of the 37+year old ones and with the benefit of nice shiny new grill work I expect they will go in for painting this week.
