SUZUKI T250 Cable question

Post by Rich_A_Melb »

Hi,

I have a 1972 Suzuki T250 J that I am trying to restore.

I am looking at trying to find cabling for clutch, speedo etc, and either NOS or at least the right looking parts.

I have seen complete grey sets but am wondering if the T250 and T350 use the same cable length and set up? If so, it may make finding replacements easier.

Welcome to the forum.

The T350 carbs are a good bit larger than the T250 carbs. So the throttle cables are different.
The other cable can be used interchangeably.

Look for online parts diagrams for bike shops in your country. That will show you what is still available from Suzuki.
Lots of parts are interchangeable between the T250, T350 & GT250. Those diagram will help you figure this out.

Thanks for the response! I am right for the cardbs, still have the original engine with all parts, it is the cables I am looking at.

I guess going after market is not great, but ability to get decent parts in Aus is hard, that won't send me broke.

If t350 or gt250 parts are a little interchangeable then that will help find things.

have a look on here: https://alpha-sports.com/suzuki_parts.htm for t250/350 cables. they don't stock them, but it gives you cable lengths on there, which is useful. btw, gt cables will be black, whereas the t cables were originally grey. i use repro cables on my gt250's and the best ones i've found are called slinky glide :D
cheers, dd.
p.s. yes, jab was correct. t250 and t350 throttle cables are different.

I am daft and didn't read the first response properly. Makes perfect sense.

Stopped me from making a useless purchase. Much appreciated both.
