Asking about the frame bushes/cushions that the rear seat bolts go through. (Part # 09305-12008)
Do I need to remove them when the frame is powder coated?
And if so, how do I get them out without ruining them?

Definitely need to come out. I haven't found an easy way though. Usually involves a long narrow screw driver.

You could try a pipe or deep socket a little larger than bush on one side and other side use a pipe or socket close in size, with bolt through everything and draw it out, although frame loop doesn't give much to support on.

I have had luck with bushings before taping the ratchet side of an old deep well socket the diameter of the frame tube on one end of a c-clamp and the bolt side of another old socket the diameter of the bushing or slightly less on the other side of a c-clamp and then cranking the heck out of it until something gives.

If it's not the bushing giving up, you may need to resort to heat to melt the rubber bit out and then a hacksaw or jigsaw to carefully cut apart the outer steel rim of the bushing. Of course if you can't get a replacement bushing this would not be the preferred method!

I removed the bushings with the stroke of a pen - literally.
Just added it to the list I gave to the shop that detabed the frame.

More bushings…
I’m using a GT500 triple tree. Do the handlebar rubber mount bushings need to come out before powder coating?
These look like the exhaust mounts used on the triples. Some members left them in when powder coating with OK results.

Turns out the GT500 triple tree handlebar bushings are part # 09319-10009. Those bushings are also used for the GT550 muffler.
Its ok to leave them in per this topic on the muffler bushings.

The topic mentions using a bolt with large washers.
Is that recommended for powder coating?
