Hi I am currently restoring a 1973 GT 185 K, I am having to make up a new front wheel as the one on the project bike i
acquired was damaged. I have a new rim and spoke set but need the offset measurements to give to the wheel builder.
Does anybody have these measurements or know of anywhere I may be able to find them.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
PS just to be clear the K is the model with the drum front brake.

Thanks for the views but no reply so far. To try and make clear just what I am looking for, I need a measurement from the wheel rim to the face of the hub (with the brake plate removed) this can be obtained by placing a rule or straight edge onto the face of the hub
and measuring the distance to the rim or if the tyre is in the way measure the tyre to hub then the tyre to rim and take away the tyre rim distance to give rim to hub measurement. Hope this helps.

Where are you in South Yorks?
My mate in Sheffield has a first model GT185 that you can measure yourself if you like.
Generally, Suzuki rims have no offset, but if you contact Wyldes in Leeds, they'll do it as they have the details for most bikes.

Hi thanks for the reply. I,m in Barnsley, I work in Sheffield so checking your mate's wheel could be an option.
I will contact Wyldes and see if they can help.
I would have thought the rim would be central myself but it won't hurt to be 100% sure.

28 sea. It's more like 28F here

And I have no idea what beach means. No beaches around here. You hanging out with Allan? Have fun.

Yep, seen Allan, and hopefully have a meal with him in the next couple of days before we get back to reality.
And this is a beach - looking out of our hotel room.
