Ummmm.....that would be the European AND Canadian version, Gordon.BTW, I'm doing it in the gold colour of the European version.
The Water Buffalo King had TWO brand new gold/white J's back in the day. Number one got written off when a drunk tee-boned him in an intersection and insurance bought him another one. He bought the wreck from the insurance company and fixed it up and rode it too. A few years passed, they both got sold for various reasons and they disappeared into the mists of history.
However, the writeoff bike came back into his possession about 3 years ago after going through about 4 or 5 owners all over western Canada. He NOW has a line on what he believes to be his second J. What are the odds ???

Suzuki paint colour match
I'm about ready to paint my '72 T500. It came a very faded teal and white which I don't like so I'm going to paint it the same colour as my first brand new bike - a 1976 GT 250A. The 250 was candy orange with black trim lines. Does anyone know a brand of paint or colour name that matches it?

i did this in rattle can. duplicolor metalcast orange on top of their silver. it's like laquer so you can pick your shade by how many coats you spray.
it looked pretty good in the sun. lots o' flake and deep looking.

Zinc Plated Parts
I had trouble with my zinc plating setup so I took some parts Allan sent me to Georgia Plating so they would get finished. My post is mainly to let people know if they are having trouble finding someone to plate stuff or can't get decent quality, this might be an option.
I talked to the guy below about Sundial and KTW in conversation and he says that it is no problem with small batches (These guys normally do semi loads). He told me he could do at least 4 times as much as this load at one shot and for the "minimum" cost of $85....up to about 100 pounds....
One thing I failed to ask him is if he would take direct shipments from people and then send the stuff back. Either call him and ask or PM me and I will call and find out for you and update the post here. They are about 25 miles south of me in Covington, GA.

The first pic is all the stuff in this load and the second is a close up. To me, this looks pretty good....but I've never had anything replated professionally before...

Hopefully they are good enough! My best plating didn't look half as good... I'll still try to get the homebrew working again for that handful of parts but I'll be taking a bucket or two to them to plate...
I just got done sorting according to my pictures of the various baggie contents. I came up with a nut, washer, and small bolt that is NOWHERE to be found in the pictures. I'll include them...
Should be shipped out tomorrow...

T500 start up - too much oil a problem?
I've finally received my T500 motor back from the mechanic, after lots of bits being done - including the gearbox mod. Now this takes the oil level up to 1400cc right?
My mechanic was trying to be helpful and he filled the tranny with 1500cc. So, should I drain it before I try to start up and replace with the correct 1400cc (but then the oil is cold for draining). Will it be a problem to try and get it running with too much oil in there?
Thanks for any advice, Mike
