Can someone help me ID a T500. The badge number is 20760. I think it's a 1969. The guy I bought it from said it was, but he had no original paperwork and seemed to be the only owner. I'd like to know for sure though, so I could order the proper parts.
The badge also says it's a T500MK2. If you can, please help me out. Thanks.

Re: Identifying a T500
Welcome to the forum Smith. I'm no expert on T500's but recently there's been much debate on this board regarding T500 numbers. Take a look at the thread linked below, especially the very last post by erricsattic. From the numbers other members have posted your bike does appear to be a 1969 model. Any pictures of your new acquisition?!

Re: Identifying a T500
Its been said the the 1969 started with ser/# 20000. It was a short production year and the model didn't take off yet. Sales boomed for the next 3 years when it won the TT isl of man in 1970. What badge said T500MKII? Did it have a production date as well?

Do you have a photo of this badge perhaps ? As per the previous posts, there is a thread at this link on this topic and any new information is always welcome.NevadaSmith wrote:The badge also says it's a T500MK2.
