My bike 1970 T500 III

Momma and I went on a real nice ride today. Came home and went to adjust my chain tension and noticed that the two screws that hold the rear light mounting bracket to the fender, they pass through the fender and bolt underneath, anyway, the screw tips cut small grooves in my almost new Michelin Tires. Looks like everytime we went over a roller, the weight of us two, maybe 305 total, would push the shocks down so far that the screws could dig into the tire.

The shocks are already on their firm setting:

Question, would this indicate that the shocks have gone bad most likely?
Are there people that rebuild these shocks or is my best bet to buy aftermarket replacements?
Has anyone used the replacement at link below?
What other good replacements have you guys used and liked?

I would contact Dave Quinn and ask him about a set of Hagon shocks. He can advise what spring rates you will need. The chances of a set off ebay at that price doing the job are thin I suspect.

My experience has been that cheap aftermarket shocks are a waste of money. If you want a good set tailor-made to suit your bike, riding style & weight I would recommend a pair of Hagon Twin Shocks. Dave Quinn is a great guy to deal with. He knows and understands the vintage bikes and he will assemble a set to suit your requirements. Best part is they are not that expensive.
