GT750 / GS1000 forks

Post by Mal »

Does anybody know if a set of GS1000 forks would be suitable for GT750 calipers and spindles ?

I'm not too bothered about the yokes (dunno if the GS1000 forks are 35mm like the GT but that doesn't really matter for what I'm doing.)

It's just whether the brakes and wheel are inter-changeable ..

How about an answer the rest of us can see? Is this a super secret? I just asked about this in general discussion.

You can swap out the entire setup as long as the triple tree bearings work out.
Did this on my GT750 with a GS1100 front end.

Suzuki used the same front wheel hub for many years, so this setup should also work with the stock GT750 wheel.
The GS-series brake rotors have a smaller OD, so you need to make that switch if you stick with GT750 wheel.

The GS-series fork tubes are longer, so you will have to account for that.
I used a Progressive Suspension lowering kit to get the correct right height.

Awesome, thanks for the info. I am picking up a complete 1000 front end with spoked wheels and complete lighter dual disks this weekend. Wanted some confirmation before I dove in.
