Rear shock choices

Greetings,
I am upgrading a 76 750 with fork springs and emulators and would like to balance it out with a shock upgrade in the $300 -$400 range. 185 in full gear doing casual mountain one up riding. Looking for some real world response here vs an internet search because those reviews are all over the place.

Thanks.

YSS shocks are a good choice. I got RE302s for my GT550 for $374.
You tell them about the bike + your riding weight, and they setup the shock for you. You can get the stock length or a bit longer if you want.

Good aftermarket shocks can have a bigger spring diameter than stock. That may be a problem with the stock chain guard. Its worth checking before spending $400.
(My GT550 doesn’t have a chain guard so I don’t know if its an issue.)
