I seem to be able to find a lot about putting tubes in and on placement but I don't find anything on sizing. The frame has about a 1"od and I would guess a pretty heavy wall DOM tubing. I don't think that is needed for bracing so I am looking at 1" od x .083 4130 chrome moly for the bracing thinking the moly will be strong enough for bracing without adding a lot of weight. This is for a race bike.
Can anyone that has done this modification chime in here?
Thanks,
DC

1'' x .059" is probably strong enough for the bracing tubes.

good, I've read where structural tubes needed to be at least .128 but you can't find anything on just bracing on a DOM tube frame.

That sounds wrong to me. Stock GT750 tubes are 3.2mm or so (1/8") and are heavy as all get out. Tony Foale had some recommendations in his book - I think he said either 18 gauge (.049") or 16 gauge (.065").
